What one learns in the laboratory

What one learns in the laboratory

Plant histology practice taught me that I must be persistent. I discovered a world under the 50x lens. Looking at cells is fun, interesting, and sometimes tiring. This was my first practice in the science lab.

It takes a lot of patience to find the perfect cut for the fabric you want to observe. This can take many hours. I was tired of cutting and slicing a piece of pear with the scalpel and felt helpless because it was not thin enough and nothing could be seen in the microscope.

Engineer Zúñiga was my teacher and she told me: never get tired of trying one more time! Don't be conformist. And well she was absolutely right. I was able to observe apple cells, onion cells, pear drusen, raw sage and made from watercress. Seeing this was really amazing.

My heart was overflowing with joy. Today I am very grateful to her. Never give up, be persistent, practice makes perfect.
